Background Tripp is the exclusive retailer of luggage in Debenhams. They trade in eighty full Debenhams stores, with their most popular collections distributed to a further twenty locations. They stock all of the market leading brands - Tripp, Jasper Conran and Samsonite and are the largest distributor of Samsonite Luggage in the UK. They have over twenty years experience in the luggage industry, with a unique fresh approach to making travel enjoyable and worry free and have a mission to become the best luggage retailer in the world. They employ around 300 staff including 25 at their Clerkenwell head office. In February 2004 they launched www.tripp.co.uk, with all products available to view, the site was made transactional in November 04. | |

The Relationship - planning for the future as the client agency Tripp refer most of their eCommerce enquiries through Numo as their trusted online marketing agency. We have even survived a change of management in their marketing department, which can sometimes be a problem for an agency such as ourselves. The relationship is very strong and from the initial campaigns we have launched for them, we are about to help with further channel launches in the coming year. | |

The Brief Tripp engaged with Numo after being referred by their developers; the existing activity was not providing good quality traffic across all channels and need some expertise to successfully drive business to the site. They wanted Numo to investigate a number of channels to promote the eCommerce website online, to drive transactions from the site. They needed a clear report of ROI and cost of acquisition for the channels, so they could make informed decisions for the first phase of launch. | |

The Solution We provided a clear selection of options with operational and financial planning for the alternative channels suitable for their industry. We highlighted the alternatives with the expected yields and costs of acquisition for each channel. The initial channel to be exploited was Search, we needed to test the website with traffic to ascertain the conversion rate and then provide a clearer cost of acquisition for Tripp together with some analysis to improve the conversion rate on the site itself. So we implemented a mutiple campaign pay per click project, this provided the initial easily tracked visitors to test the site. We optimised the campaigns and delivered better ROI and conversion as the project progressed. Once we were happy with the pay per click, we then launched the search engine optimisation campaign to provide the long term traffic to the site and brand visibility to raise the profile of Tripp generally. We worked with the developers in partnership to deliver the best platform to enable the growth of the eCommerce side of the business. | |

The Results Numo provided Tripp with over 155 top 30 positions after the first 6 months of the project and they are still growing - with 65 of those positions within the top 10 positions. Obvious results (current at time of press) in Google UK are; There are many other terms with results, but these are clearly confidential. | |
